The player takes on the role of the Nerevarine, a prophesized reincarnation of a Dunmer (or Dark Elf) hero. Despite the dated look and features, the land of Vvardenfell has become a beloved title for gamers who follow The Elder Scrolls franchise. This is often accompanied by gaming mods that add interesting twists to the game, as well as improve visuals and performance. Originally released in May 2002, the game still has an active community of players who continue to explore Morrowind and its secrets. Solstheim makes its second in-game appearance in Skyrim's second DLC, Dragonborn. In its questline, the Nerevarine is called to the island to help stop a series of werewolf attacks on the Imperials' local strongholds. The second expansion, Bloodmoon, added another explorable island, Solstheim, to the map. The first expansion introduced Morrowind's capital city of Mournhold which players could visit as a self-contained map and a questline that put them in the way of the titular Tribunal - a trio who have ruled Morrowind for millennia. The version being released is the Game of the Year edition which includes the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansion packs.
